Funding for local parks at risk
Contact Your Senator Today! Ask them to oppose parks cuts in Senate Bill 1.
The Senate’s version of the state budget bill has passed out of the Senate Finance Committee and is expected to go to the floor for a vote as early as next week.
In its current form, Senate Bill 1 will reduce parks funding by $9 million, with an additional $5 million potentially removed through an appropriations rider.
This combined $14 million loss will be devastating to our health, our economy, and our environment. We’re calling on lawmakers to oppose the cuts to the Texas Recreation and Parks Account currently written into Senate Bill 1.
